Reconnecting the Balkans – the final SEE Hub event

While responsible science is an old notion that has been raised and achieved to a different extent during the past, both locally and globally, the RRI concept as proposed by the European Commission seemed to be a novelty among various stakeholder groups in the Balkans.

The RRI has been extensively travelling this region for the past three years, during the course of the RRI Tools project. Coordinating the activities in as much as five countries, Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro and Serbia, we had the opportunity during this period to meet representatives from many institutions, governing bodies and CSOs.

The Spanish Hub organizes the first public seminar on RRI in Barcelona

Last June, the CosmoCaixa Barcelona (Spain) hosted the first public conference on Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI). It was organized by the RRI Tools project, led by "la Caixa" Foundation and the IrsiCaixa AIDS Research Institute.

RRI Tools in Lisbon: showcasing the RRI good practices across Europe

On 24 April, the 19 RRI Tools Hubs will meet in Lisbon. This will be a full day of short and dynamic presentations on the state of Responsible Research and Innovation in all hubs' countries - a showcase of promising and existing RRI practices. Around 60 researchers, science communicators, educators and policy makers, from 30 countries, will meet there, debate and present concrete examples of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) in action.

"RRI: New Opportunities for Business and Industry": a public lecture

Following the successful launch of the UCL Hub for RRI in November 2014, UCL, the RRI Tools Hub for United Kingdom, is hosting a second free public event in London: ‘Responsible Research and Innovation: New Opportunities for Business and Industry', a panel discussion featuring Nicola Herbertson, CEO and Founder of the successful social firm HAO2, and Alejandra Palermo, Open Innovation Manager at the Royal Society of Chemistry. Meet the RRI Tools Community in Lisbon

Get a chance to meet the RRI Tools community in Lisbon on 24th April 2015!

Leading participants in this European event are the RRI Tools Hubs. The 19 RRI Hubs, representing 30 countries, are responsible for training in the use of the RRI Toolkit, advocating and disseminating the concept of RRI.

Considering the hubs' experience in the field and the crucial materials they have developed - particularly in their consultation activities -, hubs are in a great position to provide a first wide reaching vision of RRI promising practices across Europe.
