The new database of the HEIRRI project is now published online and available for everyone interested in RRI and RRI learning! The database compiles 23 exemplary cases related to RRI and RRI learning in higher education institutions, such as EU projects, different teaching/pedagogical approaches, programmes, courses, a policy document and a report.

A report on the final NanoDiode working conference held on 31.05.2016 in Brussels, Belgium.

It was a great pleasure to be able to attend the final NanoDiode working conference held in Brussels on the 31st of May 2016. The program was quite promising and according to the description, the conference was supposed to “bring together a broad range of stakeholders to discuss the effective governance of nanotechnologies”.

Ellinogermaniki Agogi (EA), the RRI Tools Hub coordinator for Greece and Cyprus, is what you would expect from a typical school on one hand with numerous kids floating the school premises from nursery to high school, but on the other hand it hosts a very dynamic Research and Development department. Even in the period of the Greek crisis, the department is engaged in European funded projects in the field of science education, ICT, science communication, gamification and more.

Is the research and innovation system really favorable to perform Responsible Research and Innovation?

Marian Deblonde, senior researcher at the department of Sustainable Materials Management within VITO (Flemish Institute for Technological Research) presents the challenges of the FoTTRIS project of which she is coordinator. The aim of the project is to develop methods to support researchers and innovators to co-desgin projects with other stakeholders and scientists from other disciplines in order to move towards a challenge-oriented science.

RRI from the Go4 pitch

Andrea Troncoso from the RRI Tools project gives her views on the conference "RRI Shaping new Horizons: Responsible Research and Innovation in Europe and across the World" which was held on 14 and 15 January 2016 in Brussels.

It was a long activity programme… You could suspect the immensity of the field you were to enter…but the invitation was tempting. The two cold and rainy days that Brussels offered as a background did not discourage the varied public that attended the Go4 Conference: Shaping the new horizons.
