SiS-RRI Rome Conference: diving into Responsible Research and Innovation

RRI Tools attended the international conference on Responsible Research and Innovation, held in Rome from 19 to 21 November 2014. If you missed it, here is a chance to catch up on what was said!
The conference's topic was the evolution of EU funded activities on Responsible Research and Innovation, from "Science and Society" to "Science in Society" and lately to "Science with and for Society". Its main aim was to elaborate an effective instrument for the European Commission to be used to plan future RRI framework actions and objectives.

Several members of the RRI Tools project also took the floor: Ignasi Lopez Verdeguer ('la Caixa' Foundation) and Jack Stilgoe (UCL) presented RRI Tools in the plenary session, while Jacqueline Broerse (Athena Institute), Catherine Franche (Ecsite), Sheena Laursen (Experimentarium), and Rosina Malagrida (Irsi Caixa), gave talks in the parallel sessions on public engagement, gender and education. The event concluded with the Rome Declaration on Responsible Research and Innovation in Europe, built on the conference key conclusions and recommendations.
