RRI related positions in the USA

Here we post several positions that have appeared in our radars through the RRINet . Even though they are centered in the USA, and therefore might not be so attractive for Europeans, they give a nice hint of what certain RRI positions can look like. All of them close applications' window during October.

Associate Professor Position Open, Department of Social Sciences, Illinois Institute of Technology

Applications are invited for a tenured position as Associate Professor in the Department of Social Sciences at IIT.  We seek a methodologically engaged scholar in any social science discipline (except history and psychology) to help us develop a degree and build capacity in the broad area of Science, Technology, and Society (STS) and to contribute to an established program in Social and Economic Development Policy (SEDP).

Tenure-track position at James Madison University

James Madison University's Department of Integrated Science and Technology (ISAT) invites applications for a tenure-track position focusing on the social context of technology and science. We seek a colleague who is interested in joining an innovative, interdisciplinary technology and science program organized around real-world problem areas.

Postdoc position at UCB in Big Data


The Center for Science, Technology, Medicine, and Society at the University of California, Berkeley, is seeking a postdoctoral scholar with excellent credentials in Science and Technology Studies (STS), History of Science, or Anthropology of Science, and a strong interest in the social study of algorithms/big data. By this we mean both the social impact of big data, and the design processes and environments within which new forms of algorithmic life are imagined and realized.
